SADDLES FOR MULES - PERSONAL EXPERIENCES |
Steve H., Minnesota: Both these saddles have mule bars. They are factory saddles but the forks are custom adjusted to fit your particular mules back. You send in tracings of wires bent over several areas on the withers and back. Both saddles fit well the first time.
The Australian saddle is called the "Kimberley, Trailmaster"
The larger saddle is called "The Shootist", made by "Australian Stock Saddle Co". It is a reproduction of a 1850's style western saddle made for Cowboy Action Shooting competitions. It has a centerfire style takaberry rigging down to the cinch. The britchen is made by Weaver. The pad is a Brad Cameron felt saddle pad. You can tie or hang a lot of stuff of this saddle. I have not had this saddle long but have put it through a fair amount of use and abuse. It has held up well so far.
